legendary "Zapata Ranch". The Zapata ranch and Medano ranch consisting of 100,000 + acres are located on the
western side of HWY 150 and now owned and protected by the "Nature Conservancy of Colorado." These two ranches are
expected to become part of the "Great Sand Dunes National Park" system.
